This is where Naples' only in-house carpet and rug workroom pays off. Pick a broadloom from our showroom (or bring your own), and we cut and bind or hand-serge a runner to your exact staircase width - 27", 32", or custom - with mitered corners and a matching or contrasting tape edge.
A stair runner shows off the wood on either side and works beautifully with painted risers or open balusters, while wall-to-wall carpet covers the full tread and riser for the warmest, quietest, most pet-friendly option.

Why stair carpet outperforms hardwood for many homes
Hardwood stairs look stunning but they're slippery in socks, loud underfoot, and brutal on dropped phones. How we install carpet on stairs
We start by removing the old carpet, padding, staples, and tack strip and inspecting the wood underneath. Loose treads get re-screwed; squeaks get glued. Then we install fresh 8-pound rebond padding, tackless strips along each tread and riser, and power-stretch the carpet so it stays tight for years. Every seam is heat-bonded - no visible joints, no fraying at the nosing. Prefer a waterproof stair? See luxury vinyl plank instead.

Carpet hides them visually, but we fix them properly first. Every loose tread gets re-screwed and any open joints get glued before new carpet goes down.
Yes, as long as the treads are structurally sound. We protect the wood underneath so you can switch back to bare hardwood later if you want.
It's great for durability and looks, but skip Berber if you have cats. The loops snag easily on claws.
